ECNP Scientific get-together
New horizons in neuropsychopharmacology: Updates on two key ECNP initiatives
Venue: Convention center (CCIB) - Room 115
Chair: Eduard Vieta
… more
The scientific get-together offers updates on two new ECNP initiatives. The "Size and burden of mental disorders in Europe" study represents a recent ambitious attempt to quantify the scale, extent and societal impact of disorders of the brain in the European region. Its findings have major implications for mental health policy, research priorities and the de-stigmatisation of mental illness. The findings of this large-scale comprehensive study will be reviewed.
The Taskforce on the Nomenclature of Psychotropic Drugs is a response to the need for a coherent and transparent protocol for the naming of psychiatric medicines, bringing greater clarity to prescribers and encouraging better compliance and enhanced treatment amongst patients. The current proposal will be presented and discussed.
The session will be chaired by Eduard Vieta.
Speakers are Hans-Ulrich Wittchen, Germany, on "Size and burden of mental disorders in Europe: Update, insights and implications" and Eduard Vieta, Spain on "New classification of psychiatric medications: Report of work in progress".
The get-together will end with a networking reception.
